life story

A loving husband, father and so much more

Rodney had a big heart and was deeply devoted to his family, whom he loved unconditionally. His family was his world, and he took great pride in watching his children and grandchildren grow.

Rodney’s Life Story

Born to Richard and Emma (Jones) Haugen, Rodney, a twin and one of 5 children, grew up in Bloomington, MN. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the U.S. Navy. Rodney proudly served for 6 years, a testament to his dedication and love for his country. Once out of the Navy, he did various jobs, but found his niche in sales, where he thrived because he loved talking to people so much. In 1970, Rodney married Linda Bulson and a few years later they were blessed with two sons' Michael and Timothy. Together they shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. Their bond was unbreakable, and Rodney’s love for Linda was evident in all aspects of his life. Rodney will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him. His love, warmth, and passion for life will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.

Fun Times

Like any true Minnesotan, he watched every Vikings game and cheered them on like only he could do. That enthusiasm spread right through his 2 sons and his grandchildren!

Fishing was another love of his. He'd go out with his boys and have a great time. He enjoyed going out with his dad and twin brother Roger, always so much relaxing and bonding to be had. Those were wonderful memories made that won't be easily forgotten, just them and nature. Everyone was fully present in the moment. Another thing he loved was Linda's Hungarian Goulash, though it did take her 10 years to convince him to give it a try ;)
