life story

An extraordinary man who brought joy to our lives

Robert D. Messenger, born on April 7, 1942, in Robinson, IL, gracefully left us at Banner Heart Hospital on January 2, 2024. A true Arizonian since a young age, he navigated through life with a zest that made every day brighter. His academic journey led him through Phoenix Christian and West High School.

Renowned for his prowess as a prototype machinist, mechanic, and motorcycle enthusiast, Robert was a master at turning challenges into triumphs, often teaching himself the skills that made him exceptional. His journey led him to the tranquil town of Heber-Overgaard in his retirement, and eventually, he found a cozy nest in Mesa, AZ, alongside his beloved wife, Patricia.

Choosing the warmth of family, he settled in Mesa to be closer to his son Robert Jr., sister Joan, brother-in-law Bob, and his nephew and nieces, while regrettably too far from Terri in Nebraska and Fawn in New Mexico. Robert's magnetic personality earned him the love and admiration of all fortunate enough to know him.

In celebration of a life well-lived, no formal services will be held. Instead, let's cherish the memories of this extraordinary man who brought joy to our lives.
