life story

Loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather

Robert Myles Neave went home to be with the Lord on September 4, 2022 at the age of 83. Bob was born on March 3, 1939, in Zion, IL where he grew up and lived until moving to Edina, MN in 2019 to be close to his adult children. On January 11,1976, Bob married a sweet girl from down the street, Jane. He is now survived by his loving wife, Jane, of 46 years, son Andrew, daughter Laura (Anthony) Ferrara, three grandsons Vincent, Joseph, and William Ferrara, and sisters Eileen Neave of Zion, IL and Nancy Lechelt of Missoula, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Clara Neave, and his brothers Eugene and Donald.

Bob graduated from Zion Benton Township High School, class of '57, where he played on the basketball and tennis teams. He also graduated from evening school at Moody Bible Institute.

Bob was a lifelong member of Christ Community Church in Zion, IL, where he sang in the choir and was involved in adult Sunday school. He put his faith and trust in his Lord and Savior, asking Jesus into his heart at the age of nine. For several years in a row, he read through the entire Bible in a year.

Bob was a brick mason by trade and worked on buildings and homes in Chicago and throughout Lake County, IL.

Bob's love for his family was immense and is eternal. Spending time with family brought him joy- some of his favorite activities were watching his grandsons play hockey and soccer, taking vacations, going out to eat, backyard cookouts and campfires, treating us to a massage at the mall and a Dairy Queen, bike rides, shooting hoops, swimming, and long walks on the beach.

Bob is now free from pain and confusion and is whole- forever sheltered and safe in the arms of God
