About Robert

Robert Carl Carlson, Lakeville, passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2022, after a courageous and hard fight with Cancer.

Bob was born and raised in Bloomington MN. He graduated high school in 1972. He was drafted into the army in 1972 and spent three serving his country in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was proud to serve his country, and remained a proud veteran for the rest of his life

In December of 2019, Bob was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer and given only 6-9 months to live. Being the stubborn guy that he is, he survived almost two years longer than what was predicted. He fought hard though pain, chemo, weakness, and frustration.

Bob loved sports of all kinds, especially golf. He was a devoted Minnesota sports fan, no matter how bad they were. He loved BBQing, you could find him most weekends firing up the grill as well as trying new recipes.

He is survived by his daughter Chrystie (Robert) of St. Paul, son Michael (Jessica) of St. Anthony, granddaughters Lillian and Greta, sister Lynn (Arthur) of San Antonio TX, nephews Robbie and Scott Mattson, and Niece Mindy. As well as many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Zachalyn.
