Robert Adamiec, 85, of Waskish, MN died on Friday, April 7, 2023 at the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Robert was born on August 31, 1937 in Evergreen Park, Illinois, the son of Frank and Jean (Kalabus) Adamiec. He graduated from Fenger High School, Chicago, IL in January of 1956. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps on February 7, 1956 and was stationed in Japan as an aircraft mechanic. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant on February 6, 1959.

Robert was united in marriage to Diane Bock on October 29, 1960 at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Chicago, IL. After marriage they lived in Worth, Illinois and then in 1972 moved to a farm in North Judson, Indiana. Robert worked for 35 years with the Ironworkers Union Local #1, Chicago, Illinois. He worked on many different projects including bridges throughout the United States, from California to New York. He participated in the construction of many high rise buildings and he specialized in the installation and maintenance of overhead cranes later in his career. He retired in 1995 and then moved to Waskish, MN in 1998 and has resided there since. He loved the outdoors especially fishing.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Diane Adamiec of Waskish, MN; son, Robert Charles (Sherri) Adamiec of Duluth, MN; daughter, Cindy (Steve) Demick of Jackson, Ohio; 4 grandchildren, Kathy, Diana, Tony and Torri; sister, JoAnne (Raymond) Malmgren of New Lenox, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jean Adamiec; infant daughter, Kathy Jean; and brother, Frank Adamiec.

Mass of Christian Burial for Robert

St Patrick's Catholic Church 131 5th St NE, Kelliher, MN 56650, USA

Rev. Joseph John Kennady will be officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Chicago Ridge, Illinois on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
