Rita Marie Kowarsch

Age 59, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026. She was born July 18, 1966, in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Rita found joy in life’s simple moments and cherished the time she spent with those she loved. She enjoyed fishing and took great pleasure in baking for others, especially her pineapple upside-down cake, which will be fondly remembered by many. Rita was generous to a fault, always willing to give of herself and lend a helping hand whenever she could. Her kindness, warmth, and the memories she created with others will remain treasured by all who knew her.

Rita is preceded in death by her mother, Betty; her father, Raymond; her brothers, Dennis and Darrell; and her sisters, Kathy and Cindy.

Rita is survived by her longtime friend and companion, Rob; her biological daughter, Samantha, who was adopted by family as a child; Samantha’s children, Penelope, Piper, and Sunny; her siblings, Wannetta, Don, Debbie, Kevin, and Duane; many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory. She also leaves behind her beloved nephew, Travis, who held a special place in her heart.

Per Rita’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Those who wish to honor her memory are encouraged to remember her through the kindness, generosity, and love she shared with others.
