Beloved father and grandfather

Rick Walter Carlson unexpectedly passed away at home on April 8th, 2025, after many years of health struggles. He was born in Chisago, Minnesota, on July 27th, 1958, to Walter and Edith Carlson, and spent most of his life in the surrounding area. He was a devoted father and grandfather and often spoke about how much he loved ‘his girls’, his daughter and granddaughter.

Rick is remembered for his unfailing kindness, his willingness to help whenever he could, the cars he loved to work on, and the smile he always had. He loved a good hot rod, western novels, action movies, and cooking good food.

He was preceded in death by one beloved daughter Katie Lynn Carlson and his father Walter; and he is survived by his mother Edith, daughter Molly (Mohamed) and granddaughter Madiha, his siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be laid to rest in the same grave as his daughter Katie Lynn and will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
