Richard Michael Tschida, Sr. (Rick)
January 16, 1969 – August 25, 2024
life story
Richard Michael Tschida Sr., age 55 of Isanti, MN passed away unexpectedly in his home on August 25th, 2024.
Rick was born on January 16, 1969 in St. Paul, MN to Nancy Tschida. Growing up he loved spending time in Northern MN with his grandparents off Lake Superior. He visited there many times with his wife over the years. He talked about the family traditions that he learned from his mother Nancy through the years. He absolutely adored her and anytime they were together their fun energy could brighten anyone's day.
After Highschool he went on to being a mechanic working on ambulances. He loved telling the stories to his children and grandchildren about this time of his life. He moved on to working in manufacturing at Hoffman Enclosures until he retired.
He was happiest when he was with his wife and family, especially with his grandchildren. He treasured every moment with them. He had a special nickname for each of them. He loved fishing, being on the boat, camping and the outdoors. If he could live on the lake he would have. He often talked about the dream of getting the whole family together, getting a big pontoon, fishing all day and buying a cabin someday.
After many years together he finally married the love of his life Amy on 7-7-07 at the MOA through K102. He talked about this frequently because the number 7 came up so much in his life. If you went to his house on a typical day you would definitely see him in his “King of the Grill” apron, a spatula grilling and his dog Milo by his side. He enjoyed his time outside with family and friends making memories. All the neighbors would often come down to his home and their kids would ask for Papa Rick to get their freezies and play in the Cul-De-Sac.
Rick was reunited in death with his grandparents Robert and Marie Eng. He is survived by Nancy Tschida(Mother) and Ron Helgeson(Father Figure); Amy Tschida(Wife), Brothers: Brian Tschida and Jeff Tschida(Amanda); Brother in Law: Jeremy Watson(Laura); Father in Law: Merle Watson(Gerri); Children: Angel(Alex), Ricky Jr, Krystal(Eric), Josh(Tressa), Bianca(Tyler), Ashley(Tony), Grandchildren: Nate, Dasiya, Ethan, Addi, Arie, Xy, Bella, Ezekiel, Jeremy, Aubrie, Jahari, Sky, Ava, Solara, Xavion, Howie, Eli, Czarina, Hailey, Oli, Neeklaus, Marcellus, Shazadi, Luna, Everly and KC.
Rick will always be remembered as the loving Son, Husband, Brother, Father, Papa and Friend he was. He was the life of the party with his wittiness, jokes and stories and we could never forget his contagious laughter. He had a love for music and playing guitar. He often played his guitar through the years and made up songs, even fun ones on the spot to bring a smile and laughter to all around him. He would write special songs for loved ones, he really put a lot of time into making others smile. He would always say, “Find a penny, pick it up” and to our surprise there was a penny in his pocket! He will also always be known for his love for family and the one who you go to if you need something fixed up.
A Celebration of Life will be held soon for him in North Branch, MN. We will add the details here as soon as we are able to finalize the location and date.
