Rick LaLonde

Rick passed away at the age of 70 years old surrounded by family after a months-long battle with a rare fungal lung infection he presumably contracted from his yard. Rick was born August 15, 1955, in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Kennedy High School in Bloomington, MN. On January 24, 1976, he married his high school sweetheart Lorna LaLonde at Grace Lutheran Church. They lived in Richfield for 16 years raising three sons and spent the remainder of their years living in Eden Prairie, MN. Rick worked as a chef for many years before doing railroad transportation contracting and restaurant services as a Director of Operations. He enjoyed summers up on Lake Vermilion over the decades spending it with family and friends. Rick would always have “action” in the boat even if the fish weren’t biting. He had the gift of gab and would always chat with people he would run across. He was known for his puns, dad jokes, teasing and a good sense of humor. Rick was a hard worker, role model and provider who will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorna LaLonde; parents Eugene & Rose LaLonde; and brothers Gene & Chip LaLonde. Survived by sons, Troy, Tony (Susie), Travis; brothers Mike and Bill (Pam); sisters Michelle (Merle), Lisa (Randy) and Renée; brother-in-law Joel (Audrey); sister-in-law Colleen; nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and business colleagues. Rick is now eternally reunited with his beloved Lorna in heaven. The memorial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday March 5, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church 8700 Old Cedar Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55425, with a visitation one hour prior and a luncheon following the service.
