In loving memory

Richard Gary Palmer, age 73, of Remer, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2026.

Richard grew up farming and carried his love for gardening and the outdoors throughout his life. He worked as a personal banker until retirement and made Remer his home in 2016, where he built lasting friendships and became part of the community.

Known for his generous heart, stubborn streak, and love of being the life of the party, Richard cherished time with family and friends. He enjoyed cooking for loved ones, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his loyal dogs. Some of his fondest memories were made outdoors with his brother and extended family.

Richard and his former wife, Janet Palmer, shared 40 years of marriage before divorcing in 2016. Together, they raised their family and created many cherished memories.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Mahlon and Ruth Palmer. He is survived by his children, Kelly Palmer (Dan Monson) and Daniel Palmer and family; his seven grandchildren, including Ashton Hoglund, Myka Monson, and Dilynn Monson; brother, Larry Palmer (Bea Palmer); sister, Kathy Palmer; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his generosity, laughter, love of family, and the countless memories shared with those who knew and loved him.

Richard's celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 13th at 5:00 PM at Trapper's Bar & Grill/Banquet Hall
