Richard “Dick” Conrad Stokke

February 9, 1944 – July 31, 2026

Minneapolis, MN, USA

A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Richard Conrad Stokke, known to close friends and family as “Dick”, passed away peacefully, and was welcomed home into the loving arms of the Lord at age 82, in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Richard was born February 9th, 1944, to Marian (Hanson) and Henry Stokke in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The family moved to Belmond, Iowa, when he was a toddler, where he attended elementary through high school. During his high school years, he worked as a milkman and had a brief stint loading coal after graduation. Soon after, he enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving his country as a private first class. He served a tour in Germany and was honorably discharged after four years of dedicated service.

Following his military service, Richard returned home and began building his family. He married his first wife, Sandra (Skiye) Stokke, in 1966, sharing nearly forty-five beautiful years together until her untimely passing in 2011. The couple was blessed with four children: Brenda, Robert, Christine, and Michelle. Richard later remarried in 2012, sharing his life with his second wife, Judy Joy, expanding his heart and home to include her three children: Terill “Joe”, Jennifer, and HannaMaria.

Bringing the same strong work ethic from his youth into his civilian life, he built a long career in the electrical and technology fields. He eventually joined DataCard, where he dedicated many years of skilled service until his well-deserved retirement.

Known for his fun-loving and vibrant spirit, Richard filled his life with a variety of interests and hobbies. He particularly loved working on cars, riding his motorcycle, listening to the music of his youth, trying new foods, and gathering with his family. He was known for his warm smile, his reliable nature, and the deep pride he took in his grandchildren.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Judy Joy; his children, Robert Stokke, Christine (Allen) Miller, and Michelle Ostrowski, his stepchildren, Terill “Joe” Jasicki, Jennifer (Joe) Baumeister, and HannaMaria (Eric) Douglas; his siblings Patricia Stokke and James Stokke; his nephew Michael (Serina) Stokke, niece Emily (Matt) Pivec, and four grandnephews; Nineteen combined grandchildren, Shaun, Anthony, Brittany, Matthew, Brandon, Shelby, Wyatt, Elizabeth, Thomas, Hogan, Cody, Benjamin, Nolan, Levi, MinnaFaye, Eliza, Gemma, Zoey, and MaisieMae; as well as his highly anticipated great-grandson, due in December.

He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Sandra (Skiye) Stokke; his daughter, Brenda Leners; his granddaughter, Faith Douglas, his mother-in-law, Delores Howitz, and his parents, Marian and Henry Stokke.

Richard lived a life defined by hard work, resilience, and an unwavering love of his family. We will deeply miss his vibrant presence, but we find comfort in a lifetime of joyous memories. His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will live on forever in our hearts. He will be deeply missed.
