Richard Bruce Powers

Richard Bruce Powers, age 74 (11/19/49 – 08/26/24), of Plymouth, MN. Bruce is survived by son Richard Marshall Powers, Cousin Tom Powers (Kathy) and their 4 children (Dustin, Lindsey, Nick, Jack), Cousin Liz Powers. Preceded in death by Father Richard L. Powers, mother Dorothy Powers, Cousin Gail Powers.

Bruce graduated from Edina High School and later from St. Cloud State University. He was a real estate developer and rental property owner. Building single family homes alongside his father, he won a Reggie Award for his 3rd home in 1977.

Bruce will be remembered for his love of family, friends, rock-n-roll music, and fishing. His favorite times were spent fishing at Leech Lake for Muskies and in the Florida Keys for the coveted “Grandslam”. He introduced the “Fisherman’s Prayer” to his son Marshall: “Dear Lord, I pray, let me fish until that certain day, when your net is cast into the deep, may I pray that you judge me fit to keep, and in your home oh Lord I pray forever may I fish and stay.”

A private family memorial will be held. Memorials preferred to Donor’s choice.
