Richard Alvin “Rich” Lukenbill, 74, of Bridgie Township, MN went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 under hospice care at home.

Rich was born on June 30, 1947 at Bridgie Township in Koochiching County, the son of Donald Sr., and Myrna (Baker) Lukenbill. As a young man, he entered the U.S. Air Force in 1966, and was later honorably discharged.

Rich returned to the area and on June 10, 1967 he was united in marriage to Kathy Winkle at the Covenant Church in Northome, MN. He worked at John Morrell Meat Packing and at a few different saw mills before he began working as a custodian for the Northome School, a position he held for 33 years.

Rich loved to garden, raise exotic animals and cut firewood. He especially loved spending time in God’s word and sharing the Gospel with others.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Kathy; siblings, Donald (Mary) Lukenbill Jr. of Northome, MN, Deacon Jim (Bern) Lukenbill of Baudette, MN, Jolene (Doug) Johnson of Almelund, MN, brothers-in-law, Gary Winkle of Ham Lake, MN, John (Marge) Winkle of Northome, and Dave (June) Mills of Red Lake Falls, MN; sisters-in-law, Judy Madden of Golden Valley, MN and Carol (Brian) Frame of Sebeka, MN; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews; his special spiritual children, Paul and Reaya Hanson of Karlstad, MN as well as other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Sr. and Myrna Lukenbill; and his sister, Janet Lukenbill.
