Rick passed away unexpectedly on 10/20/2026 at the age of 62. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, aunt; Susan Elizabeth Witherow, nephew; Michael Todd Thompson and granddaughter; Kacey May Goodman. Richard leaves behind his mother; Janet Halling,, his long term partner Dana Wilson and her children; Alicia Jurgensen (Caylin Goodman (Jawane and Kiko), Layla Beedy and Ada Beedy), Alexandra Shelton (Cody Johnson and Lydia Johnson), Dana's Mother Shari Wilson and brother; Scott Wilson (Lisa), sister; Darla Gregor (Rick), Stephanie Wilson, aunt and uncle Arvid and Diane Jaranson, brother; Todd Edward Thompson (Brenda), Shelly Thompson, sons Richard Allan Thompson, Jr (Alicia and her daughter Sophia), Tyler Lee Thompson (Hannah and their daughter Brielle Toni Thompson), Sawyer Tanner Thompson (Brooklyn), nephew; Brandon James Thompson, along with nieces and their families, and many cousins. Richard will be greatly missed. He was very loved by everyone who knew him. People say they will miss his big smile and great hugs the most. Rick loved old school 70's, 80's and 90's music (roller skating music), and modern hip hop.
