Rhonda Irene Clayton, 87, of Northome, MN passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Bigfork Valley Aspen Circle.

Rhoda was born on April 4, 1936 in Corina Township, Maple Lake, MN, the daughter of John and Irma (Klemz) Dalman. She attended school in Maple Lake.

She married Jesse Clayton in February of 1955 in Silver Creek, MN where she resided for 25 years. In 1967, she received her private pilot’s license and joined the Maple Lake Flying Club and local Civil Air Patrol. She also co-piloted on ferry flights to several locations in Alaska.

After moving to St. Cloud, MN she worked at St. Cloud Aviation for 35 years at the front desk doing administrative work for the company. She retired from there in 2005. After retiring she moved to Northome, MN.

Rhoda was a member of Hope Lutheran Church and volunteered at the Northome Nursing Home. She enjoyed embroidery, baking, and riding on outdoor trails with her John Deere Gator.

Rhoda is survived by her son, Steven L. Clayton of Northome, MN; her daughter, Robin Wolf of Forest Lake, MN; a sister, Jeanne Pemberton of Maple Lake, MN; a grandson, Nathan (Michelle) Clayton of White Bear Lake, MN; her ex-husband Jesse Clayton of Sauk Rapids, MN; 5 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Irma Dalman; a brother Marlo Dalman; and a sister, Carol Berthiaume.
