About Randy
Randall Robert Stark peacefully passed to a better place in the evening of May 8, 2021.
He was born on November 10, 1955 in St Paul to Robert and Sally (Thompson) Stark. Randy graduated from Columbia Heights High School in 1974 and married Linda Metcalf in 1977.
He worked for the University of Minnesota-Minneapolis Campus as a Building and Grounds Worker, Chem Storehouse Worker and Delivery Driver.
Some of the things he enjoyed were small game and deer hunting, fishing, camping, country western music, dancing, talking on the phone, telling jokes, making people laugh, watching movies (especially war ones) and older TV series, checking thrift stores, going to gun shows, and garage sales for treasures and spending time with his grandchildren.
Randy was preceded in death by his father Robert Stark. He is survived by his mother Sally Stark; his wife Linda Stark; his sons Joshua Stark of Clark Hill SC and Jacob (Heidi) Stark of Eden Prairie and favorite daughter Joanna Stark of Columbia Heights; his grandchildren Katelyn, Camren and Jayden Stark, Toby Osborn and Myka Stark; his brothers Steve (Susan) Stark and Bryan Stark; sister-in-laws Gaylene (John) Wendle and Audra Metcalf and brother-in-law Rick (Deb) Metcalf; 4 nieces, 2 nephews; Aunt Mary Ann (Tom) Stark and Aunt Lois (Jack) Stark and many cousins.
Thank you all for your prayers and support these past 8 months. A heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all the staff at Our Lady of Peace hospice in St Paul for their loving care of Randy.
A special thank you to Nate Sanders and Ben Wallace for making a beautiful wooden urn for Randy and for teaching Toby and Myka how to woodwork and letting them help. We know Poppa was smiling down from heaven while they were working on it.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 2 at Tony Schmidt Park in Arden Hills from 3-8 pm. A Service at 4 pm will be conducted by his cousin Bruce Thompson. The Pavilion is on top of the hill with only handicap parking there. No alcohol allowed in the Park.
