About Ralph
Ralph was born near Blencoe, Iowa. His family moved to Rochester, Minnesota when he was 10. He is survived by his two children, Alayna and Jim, three older sisters, Judy Vessey, Joyce Martin, and Elaine Quiter, two younger brothers, Ken Stanislav and Joe and one younger sister, Mary Stanislav. He attended Lourdes High School where he was a good student and excelled in wresting. Ralph was a good friend to many and a voracious reader. He laughed easily and had strongly-held political beliefs. The following was posted by his daughter Alayna on Facebook: "My dad died unexpectedly last week. Besides being kind, sweet and funny, he was the most loving father anyone could have hoped for. The emptiness he left behind, early on a gray Monday morning is unimaginable. a crater on the moon, literally incomprehensible in scale.
To say he will be missed by me and my brother is a vast understatement, which is why i haven't posted much about it; words just don't seem to fit our current reality very well. It feels really strange and bad not having any parents alive. I suppose some people (mostly older people?) can relate.
Anyway, a status update: Jim is living with me for the time being, since his life and living situation have been uprooted. We are both very sad but alive and carrying on.
Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated during this hard time."
An evening to remember Ralph is planned for Saturday, May 8th, 5:30 p.m. at Diana (Angy) Grandy's apartment building, 1957 English St., Maplewood, MN 55109
