life story
Phyllis Ann Madan
Phyllis Ann was born to Harry C. and Leona Youngberg of Duluth, Minnesota, on April 6th 1938. Phyllis was one of four children, and the only daughter at that. She was a proud daddy’s girl, and tom-boy, never one to turn down a challenge, or an opportunity to show her brothers who was in charge.
Her first, and forever love, was found in her Savior, Jesus Christ. Phyllis’ heart brimmed with enthusiasm, and yearning to study the Word of God, and walk with Him, daily. She “threw” her passion for Jesus around like confetti—sharing the goodness of Christ with anyone and everyone.
She met, fell in love, and married her sweetheart, Rolley Scott Madan in 1956.
Soon after being wed, Phyllis began praying to have a child. Her prayers were answered with the births of her and Rolley’s two sons—Mike Madan, and Kevin Madan. Phyllis found her purpose and genuine pride in being a mother—her boys were her joy.
Together, Phyllis and Rolley created a way of life full of Jesus, gospel hymns on repeat, love, laughter, good food and a home that was home too many. They were married for 50 years, before Rolley entered the kingdom of Heaven in December 2006.
Phyllis was a beautiful human, with a larger-than-life heart. A heart that grew with every birth of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Children brought her happiness that couldn’t be replicated. She was the ultimate baby whisperer, and remained, a child at heart, well into her 80s. She may have aged, yet stayed young all at once.
On July 2, 2022, she went to be with her Savior. Joining her husband Rolley, and her youngest child, Kevin, in eternal life.
Our mom/Grams, is remembered with love, by her son Mike, her daughter-in-law, Betsy Madan, her four grandchildren, Bryce Harper, Brea (Matt) Bateman, Bethany (Triston) Felix, Kaitlyn (Nathan) Mawer, and 12 great grandchildren, Joey, Connor, Ryan, Annika, Liam, Raylea, Ella, Madan, Noah, Owen, Maxwell, and Emma. Phyllis is loved and cherished by countless friends and family, many of whom she has been reunited with in Heaven.
To know our G’ma was to love her, and we will love her endlessly.
Go tell it on the mountain that Phyllis Ann is home.
