Peter W. Meyers, 80, of Park Rapids, MN proud veteran passed away on Veteran’s Day Nov. 11, 2022 at the Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND, from health complications stemming from Co-Vid in 2020.

Peter was born on February 25, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Peter C. and Eva Meyers. He grew up in Detroit until the age of 12, when his family moved to a farm in rural Menahga.

He was baptized as an infant, and later confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He attended school in Menahga where he graduated with the class of 1961. He was united in marriage to Mary Rader in 1963. He was drafted in the US Army during the Vietnam War, serving from 1966 until 1968. He served mostly at Fort Hood, Texas. His occupations included Bachman’s Nursery, a siding contractor in the Rockford, & Buffalo, MN area. He sided many homes there and even a barn which he said it “deserved to be saved.” He started his Roll–Off dumpster business, which he enjoyed operating until he recently retired at age 80, and he said, “How lucky can I be?”

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Ben and Charles.

He is survived by his wife Mary of 59.5 years and his two sons – Jay and Chris. His brothers: Dick, Steven and Michael. Many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
