Paul Edward Stoll

life story

Paul Edward Stoll, the son of Annie (Yoder) and Joseph Stoll, was born on June 28, 1919 in Wolford, ND, the first of seventeen children. Paul lived in North Dakota until he was a young boy when their family moved to Frazee, MN.

On June 15, 1951, Paul was united in marriage to Mary Martin in Sheldon, WI. They lived in Wisconsin for three years and moved to Strawberry Lake, MN where they resided for two years. In 1958, Paul and Mary were obedient to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and moved to flag Island to share the Gospel of Salvation through Jesus Christ to the people of that area. He started working at the Angle Inlet Church in 1972 where he served until 2006.

Paul developed heart problems in his early 60's, but the Lord gave him life for an extra 25 years. He was expectantly waiting for the Lord's call to come home, yet he was content and at peace with life doing what he could in prayer and encouraging others. When asked, what could he do different? He responded, "I would not change anything!"

Paul Stoll passed away on June 16, 2008 at his home in Warroad. He was 88 years old.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Warroad; children: Alvin (Rita) Stoll of Glen Flora, WI, Gladys (Galen) Bontrager of Goshen, WI, Judy (Joseph) Paishk of Red Lake, Ontario, Jenny (Gregory) Gilbert of Warroad, Lili (Brian) Kelly of Warroad, Lois (Jon) Stoll of Kenora, Ontario, and Chad Stoll of Jamesville, WI; grandchildren: Ronda (Mark), Maria (Tim), Verlin, Jeremy, Justin, Tamsen, Natasha, Dallas, Monty, Cassandra, Nathan, Amanda, Dylan, Cody, Lana, Erica, Richard, Shannon, and Devin; great-grandchildren: Daniel, Gracie, Isaiah, Caleb, Mitchell, De Vonte`, Hope, Seven, Maxwell, Jordyn, Dontay, Jasper, and Coby; siblings: Ella (Vernon) Boss, Doris (Melvin) Eby, Joe (Rhoda), Warren (Darlene), Lloyd (Arlene), Roger (Margaret) Ray, Roy (Bonnie), and Carol (Winston) Hensley.

He is preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Fannie; and siblings: Fern Buller, Lorna Njor, Carl, Don, Ruth Schrock, Ivan, and Ron.

Funeral Services for Paul Stoll of Warroad, were Monday, May 19, 2008 at the Warroad Baptist Church followed by burial at Riverside Cemetery - Warroad, MN
