life story

Paul Edward Matthew, deeply loved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend, went home to Jesus on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at North Memorial Medical Center, Maple Grove, MN, with Cindi and our minister, Brett Miller by his side.

Paul was born to Elmer and Hannah Matthew on October 11, 1951, in Minneapolis, MN. He grew up in Hopkins, MN, and graduated from Hopkins High School in 1970. Paul and Cindi were married in July 1974. He was employed by Hypro Pumps in New Brighton, where he retired from in 2013.

He was a long-time member of Southeast Christian Church, Minneapolis, MN.

Paul’s quiet sense of humor and gentle nature was a stabilizer for many. Paul liked to cook and barbecue. He liked to create new dishes. Paul loved his dogs, he spoiled Lucy and Reagan, and they will miss him.

He is survived by his wife, Cindi; brother, David (Kathy) Matthew of St. Cloud, MN; sister, Susie Allard of Minneapolis, MN; brother-in-law, Keith (Pauline) Couch of Gering NE; sister-in-law, Phyllis Hawkins of New Brighton, MN; brother in-law, Cal (Aileen) Couch of Havre, MT; many nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Hannah Matthew; brother, John; and nephew, Tadd.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, May 19th at Southeast Christian Church, 960 - 15th Avenue SE, Minneapolis, MN, 55414 at 11AM. Visitation one hour before the service.
