Honoring Pat

Patrick M Kinne of St. Paul, MN passed away March 13, 2022 at 62. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Kinne and Phidella [Jean] Kinne; recently met by his sister Nancy [Nanny] Van Mieghen. He leaves behind his daughters Melinda [Leina] Kinne, Melissa [Itcha] Kinne, and Melanie [Mel Bell] Kinne; his grandchildren Kadyn Kinne, Carson Prudhon, and Alexa Kinne; his siblings Julie [Lulu] Kinne Harris, James [Jimmy] Kinne, John [Johnny] Kinne, Jody [Dody] Phillips, Teresa [TerTer] Kinne, and Joanne [Jojo] Kinne; his cats Wilma, Willie, and Big Mama; and countless other loving family and friends.

Pat was born & raised in St. Paul, MN and proud of it; showing his love for the city/state by always taking the ‘scenic route’. He spent most of his life in the frogtown neighborhood, where he stayed connected with life-long friends. Pat had a passion for biking, taking trips all over the state enjoying what nature had to offer. He was a devoted Minnesota sports fan, rooting for and collecting memorabilia for his Vikes, Twins, Saints, and Timberwolves.

Anyone who knew Pat, knew how important family was to him. His three daughters were his whole world; he raised them to be kind, to be Kinnes, and was so proud of the women they became. He loved to throw a football with his grandsons, and tell his sweet & sassy granddaughter he would eat her chocolate toes; becoming Papa Kinne was his proudest chapter in life. As the oldest brother in a family of eight, he always wanted to look out for his siblings making sure they were safe, sending messages to let them know he was thinking of them, and a big advocate of family keeping in touch.

Later in life, Pat found a work crew that made him feel like family, gave him a place to be himself, and became a part of their “A Squad”. Pat was well-known for being an avid animal lover taking care of many cats in need of shelter over the years; he will be happy to know that his cats are being cared for by family.

Pat had such a soft heart, helping whomever and however he can. He truly was a man who would give his only dollar or the shirt off his back to someone in need. His mission was to be the good in the world, always wanting those around him to be happy and for the world to be a happier place. He is a man who will be missed by many.

A celebration of life will take place May 14th.
