life story

Patricia Marie Mickelsen passed away at the age of 81, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 after a long battle with cancer. Patty was born on December 1, 1944 to Jean and Clyde Schmieg of St. Paul, Minnesota. She is survived by her husband Patrick, three children, three grandchildren, several siblings, nieces, and nephews.

Patty graduated from Harding High School on St. Paul’s Eastside. She married her beloved husband Patrick on September 19, 1964. Pat and Patty had three children: daughters Stacy, Shannon, and last but certainly not least, son Nathan.

Patty was a dedicated and loyal Jehovah’s Witness and found joy in being with like-minded people and sharing her faith with others and wanted all to learn about Jehovah and live in the paradise.

Patty loved being a mom, grandma, friend, and was a talented cook, gardener, and musician. She spent several years singing with the musical group The Pyps, and lived for that music. Patty enjoyed entertaining, playing cards (especially 500), and traveling with her family and friends. She was a quiet, dignified woman with a warm and giving heart. She didn’t have a mean bone in her body and never got mad at anyone. She cared for her loving mother-in-law Jeane for many years before she passed away. Her calm presence, unassuming classiness, and humor will be missed by many.

A memorial service will be held at the Royal Golf Club, 11455 – 20th Street North, Lake Elmo, MN 55042, on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
