Loving Mother and Grandmother

Patricia Nicholson, of Farmington MN, passed away on the morning of August 28th, 2025 at the age of 70. She was born on December 18, 1954 to Richard and Hattie (Louise) Kilpatrick (Fisher) in Galesburg Illinois.

Patti attended Galesburg High School and graduated in 1972. Patti's greatest accomplishments in her life were her children. She was a voracious reader and loved music and enjoyed singing. She attended Cursillo many times in order to strengthen her relationship with God.

Patti is survived by her 7 children, whom she loved unconditionally: Sean Barnstead, Kathleen McDonald, Kelly Gerten, Daniel Barnstead, Mollie Barnstead, Emily DeCorsey, and Grace Barnstead. Her grandchildren, Riley, Evan, Liam, Caroline, Adam, and Ava, gave her so much joy. She is also survived by her (ex) husband Steven Barnstead.

Patti passes along so much wisdom, advice, and determination. She will be missed by so many but leaves us with a song in our hearts as a reminder of her love.

The family would love for those wishing to help during this difficult time to consider donating flowers for her celebration of life, or making a charitable donation to the Minnesota Breast Cancer Coalition.

Her celebration of life will be held at Southcross Community Church in Burnsville on September 20th at 11am. We ask that everyone wear something red to celebrate her, as that was her favorite color.

If you would like to donate flowers for Patti's Celebration of Life, please send them to 13600 Johnny Cake Ridge Road, Apple Valley MN 55124 between September 18th-19th. The family also asks that you contact them directly in some way to let them know you will be sending flowers, so they know how many to expect and on what date. We are not working with a particular floral vendor at this time.
