About Noreen
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Noreen Kuzelka, who passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 in St. Paul, Minnesota at the age of 101. She is survived by her daughter Carole (Mike) Ackerman, grandchildren Jason (Tanya) Kuzelka, Mike Jr (Kelly) Ackerman, Greg Kuzelka and Christine (Nathan) DuBois, many great grandchildren and a great, great grandson. Preceded in death by husband Raymond, son Ronald, brother Raymond Barta and parents Joseph Barta and Mary Martinchik.
Noreen was born on July 9, 1924 in Lonsdale, Minnesota to Joseph and Mary Barta. Noreen and Raymond met at Novak’s bar on Randolph Ave in St. Paul with friends and found out that each knew how to speak Czech. She married Raymond in Michigan on June 2, 1945. In 1947, Ray and Noreen built their home on Stewart Ave in St. Paul and lived there for the rest of their days.
Noreen worked in the bindery at several print shops in St. Paul including Webb Publishing where she started, Printing Incorporated and retired from McGill Jensen in 1986.
Noreen loved her yard, garden and flowers. Ray and Noreen camped in a Trail Blazer house trailer on Pleasant Lake in Annandale, MN and then later bought Cabin 15 on Pipe Lake in Comstock, Wisconsin. They owned the cabin for 39 years and loved it there. They would go up to the lake every weekend and had many beloved friends there. She loved to take a pontoon ride, make cinnamon rolls or just sit on the deck and drink a Schmidt’s beer, her favorite.
Noreen was an avid Bingo player, she loved it. Most recently she played at the Bingo Palace or Little Canada Bingo Hall. She also loved to play cards every Monday at Shoreview Community Center. After she gave up driving, she used Metro Mobility to get around and left the house nearly every day.
Most of all, Noreen loved her family and loved to have a party. She could not wait for the next birthday celebration or family get together.
