Obituary

Mr. Nelson Torres, beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather passed away on January 30, 2025, at the age of 62. Born in Paterson NJ, he was a man of extraordinary kindness, compassion, pride, and humor.

Nelson attended Eastside High School and was a proud trumpet player for the school's marching band. After high school, he went on to pursue his dreams of being a musician where he played percussion for the band Mystic Touch. Nelson was an avid musician who took the most pride in playing his congas which brought him closer to his Puerto Rican roots. He truly loved all things music and would share his creativity and unique musical taste with every person he met.

In 1983, Nelson married the love of his life, Rosa Torres, and they shared a beautiful and loving 41 years together. Three years later, they had their first son, Nelson Torres Jr., followed by their daughter, Christina in 1996. Later in life, Nelson went on to be a devoted and loving grandfather to Alexander, Gabriella, and Sophia Torres.

His family and all who knew him will miss him dearly and forever cherish their loving memories of him.

A burial service will follow at 10:30 am at the Cedar Lawn Cemetery 200 McLean Blvd, Paterson, NJ 07504. Close family and friends only.
