Neil Nattrass, 85, of Bagley, MN died on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji, Minnesota.

Neil Edwin Nattrass was born on June 29, 1938, at his family’s home in Minerva Township, MN to Merrill and Gertrude (Krannich) Nattrass. He went to grade school in Minerva and went on to Bagley High School through the 10th grade, later choosing to drop out of high school to join the United States Navy. He served our country from 1957 – 1963, when he was honorably discharged.

Neil married Florence (Klingbeil) on June 12, 1965, at Gospel Tabernacle in Bemidji, MN. They moved to Flint, Michigan and started raising their family by welcoming four children. There Neil worked for General Motors for six years. In January of 1974, Neil earned a degree at the Advanced School in Electricity and Electronics at Chicago, IL. Later, Neil received his GED in 1982.

They moved back to Minerva in March of 1974 where they bought part of his parents’ farm. They lived at the farm until 1984, when they moved to Bagley and have resided there ever since.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, the Vikings and especially the Twins, never wanting to miss a game.

Neil’s passion was working in his beautiful flower gardens, that were very impressive. Neil and Florence took joy in feeding and watching the many birds they had by their house.

Family time was important to Neil, mainly playing table games. He could fix anything. Neil spent many years doing construction and remodeling. He was very active in building the Country Faith Church in Bagley out of logs. He loved to make wood projects, and throughout his career he worked for Lewis Construction, Alvin Brusewitz and Stinar Construction. Neil was obligated to retire after a serious work accident that left him unable to work.

Neil was very strong with his faith; He currently attended the Crossroads Church.

Neil is survived by his wife Florence Nattrass of Bagley, MN.

Daughter-Maylene (Richard) Maruska of Shevlin, MN.

Son-Steve (Sandee) Nattrass of Blackduck, MN.

Son-Craig Nattrass of Clearbrook, MN.

Daughter-Sarah Nattrass of Winger, MN.

9-Grandchildren and 2-Great Grandchildren

Sister-Bernice (Hal) Lottis of Taylor, OR

And numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Merrill and Gertrude; his twin brother Roy Nattrass; sisters-Elaine and Phyllis; and his brother-David Nattrass.
