life story

Beloved Son, Brother, Father, Nephew, Uncle, Grandfather, and Friend

Napoleon Carlisle was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on March 12, 1967 to the loving parents of Elonza and Mattie Carlisle. He passed away, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at age 54, on April 24 2021. Napoleon was a beloved son, brother, father, nephew, uncle, grandfather, and Friend to so many.

His Life Journey

Napoleon spent the majority of his childhood in Gary Indiana. He attended Lew Wallace high school; and later obtained training as an auto-body technician which is an occupation he was deeply passionate about. I vividly remember him working on cars from sun up to sundown-smiling as he brilliantly and meticulously repaired wrecked automobiles: painted, detailed, buffed, and removed dents making the car like-new again. Napoleon brought his passion to Minneapolis and worked several years sharing his gift for repairing vehicles. In his spare time he worked as a handyman-a blessing and natural skill he acquired from his father. Additionally, he enjoyed karaoke, cooking, playing dominos, listening to music and spending time with family, friends, and especially his beloved children whom he loved and cherished so very much. Being a father gave him great joy as he was a proud father and adored his children. We will miss his big heart, wittiness, straight forwardness and eagerness to lend a helping hand. Napoleon was preceded in death by his parents: Elonza and Mattie; Brother: Nathaniel Carlisle. He is survived by his (9) nine amazing children: daughters: TaKea, Alishea, Tatianna, Makayla, KyLeah; sons: Lamar, Keevon, Kadin, Lavontae; siblings: sisters: Debra Carlisle, Bridgette (Clifford) Gibson; brother, Elonza (Carolyn) Carlisle; grandchildren, many nieces, nephews; and very special friends: Earl Conley, Sheila Hoverson, Ann Petersen, and many more close friends, relatives and acquaintances.
