Nancy Anne (Stillwell) Valder
August 14, 1945 – February 22, 2021
Minneapolis, MN, USA
Nancy Anne (Stillwell) Valder entered her Eternal Home in heaven on Monday, February 22, 2021. She passed away at home surrounded by her favorite people in the world, her family. Born August 14, 1945 in Minneapolis, to Elmo and Marguerite Stillwell, she was the fourth of six children. She graduated from West High School in Minneapolis in 1963.
Nancy and Dan Valder met at Soul’s Harbor Church where they sang together in the TV Choir. The first time they met in the choir, they knew that they were meant to be, and she and her Dan-man began dating shortly after their first meeting. Nancy and Dan were united in marriage on November 9, 1973 at Northwestern College Chapel. During the second year of their marriage, they decided to attend Bethany Fellowship Bible School for their one year program. Upon completion of bible school, Nancy worked for Litton Microwave for 8 years. Many years of prayers were answered in 1983, when Benjamin Daniel Valder joined their family. In 1985, their family was completed when Jeremy Daniel Valder arrived. Shortly after that, Nancy became involved in daycare. She enjoyed all of her “kids,” giving them individual love and care every day for the next 10 years. After a one year reprieve, she returned to the workforce at Hennepin County Medical Center, working in the patient accounting department as a receptionist. She remained there until her retirement.
Nancy and Dan were inseparable throughout their lives, raising kids, enjoying time with family, playing games and going on countless adventures together. Duluth, Stillwater, Mantorville, New York City, Branson and the Black Hills of South Dakota were some of their favorites. Nancy was an incredible cook who spoiled her family seven days a week with her homemade BBQ ribs, fresh quesadillas, Sunday dinners and her famous pizza! She always had a table full of homemade goodies (banana bread, brownies and chocolate chip cookies) that she unselfishly shared with everyone she could. She loved watching NCIS detective shows, silly reality TV and all sporting events her sons participated in. She was beautiful, thoughtful and strong, often not saying a word about what struggle she might be going through in order to be there for others. She loved Jesus and her family with all of her heart, constantly reminding them of these two most important things in life.
One of the highlights of Nancy’s later years was the joy that granddaughters Kayley and Lucy brought into her life. The time spent with them was a touch of heaven on earth for her. She had an amazing gift of being able to relate with them mentally and emotionally.
Nancy's genuine love and sincere desire for others to succeed will never be forgotten by all those that knew her.
