Monica Suzanne Peterson (Boland)

Monica Suzanne Peterson of Shoreview, MN entered into Eternal Life on July 29, 2023. She was born on October 28, 1937 to Gregory and Margaret Boland of Mendota Heights, Minnesota.

Monica attended The College of Saint Catherine in Saint Paul, MN earning both her Bachelors and Master’s degree in Education.

On June 18, 1965, she married John H. Peterson at the Pool and Yacht Club in Saint Paul, MN.

For over 30 years Monica enjoyed being a high school special education teacher with St. Paul Public Schools spending the majority of that time at Humbolt Senior High.

When she wasn’t teaching, Monica enjoyed summers at the cabin, gardening and flowers, fishing with her husband, cooking, crossword puzzles, singing and music, and most importantly spending time with family.

Monica was preceded in death by her husband John, parents Gregory and Margaret (Honeybee) Boland; two sisters, Mary and Maureen (Peg); and two brothers, Terrence and Edward (Mike/Bubs). She is survived by her children: Tim (Pamela) Peterson, JoLee (Matt) McDevitt, Tom (Clorissa Corbett) Peterson, 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests spending quality time with your loved ones in honor of Monica as that was one of her favorite things in life to do.
