Monica Rowland, 86, of Bemidji, MN died Friday, April 15, 2022 at her home.

Monica was born May 5, 1935 in Molokai, Hawaii, the daughter of Garvino and Caloba (Tagaras) Rin. She was raised and educated on the Island of Molokai, Hawaii. She graduated from Molokai High School and attended college in Ho’olehua, Maui.

She married Larry Rowland September 29, 1962 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She traveled with Larry (who was in the Navy) from Hawaii to San Diego, CA and back to Hawaii. After Larry’s retirement from the Navy they moved to Minnesota in 1976.

Monica retired in 2000 after over 20 years as an activities aide for Beltrami Co Nursing Home. She enjoyed photography, flower gardening, her Catholic faith and spending time with her family. She absolutely loved being a grandma.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Rowland, son, Larry (Sonja) Rowland, Jr., daughter, Michele (Don) Diebel, sister, Catherine Cuello, grandchildren, Brandon (Ashley) Rowland and Shelby (Jake) Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Location: Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wilton, MN with Fr. John Christianson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
