Monica L. Muhich

Monica passed away on January 27th, 2026, from natural causes. She was born in

Virginia, MN; graduated from Roosevelt High School in Virginia; and earned her

bachelor's degree from The College of St. Scholastica. A lifelong learner, Monica later

returned to school to earn a degree in computer programming.

She devoted many years to a successful career in the Information Technology sector,

specializing in database administration. Her career brought her to Chicago, where she

developed a fondness for the Bears. After moving back to Minnesota, she was unique in

cheering for both the Vikings and the Bears.

Monica found joy in cooking and baking, delighted in trying new recipes, and made

beautiful desserts. She also loved taking photographs, especially of nature, where she

found peace in capturing trees and flowers.

She was a caring sister who will be deeply missed by her family.

Monica is survived by her sister, Michelle Muhich; her brothers, Michael (Mary) Muhich,

Marcus Muhich, and Mitchell (Rebecca) Muhich; and her cherished nieces and

nephews, Christopher (Kate) Muhich, Nicholas (Erica) Muhich, Katherine Muhich, Alex

Muhich, Amanda Muhich, Anthony (Amber) Muhich, and Jacob Muhich, as well as great

nieces and nephews, Abbie, Grayson, and Lily Muhich. She is also survived by many

aunts, uncles, and cousins. Monica was preceded in death by her grandparents,

Anthony and Frances Muhich; her grandmother, Lillian Phaneuf; her parents, Robert

and Vivian Muhich; her brother, Matthew; and her sister, Marcia.

Later this summer, a private family service will be held to lay Monica to rest in the

Eveleth Cemetery with her parents, brother, and sister, followed by a celebration of

Monica’s life at Long Lake. Monica requested that any memorials be directed to the
