Miriam Eleanor Trukki (nee Lang) April 3, 1938 – February 7 th , 2024 Of Hutchinson, MN
Miriam joined the Angels in Heaven on February 7th, 2024, while surrounded by family and those who loved her dearly.
Miriam was born in South Dakota to George and Eleanor Lang on April 3rd, 1938. Miriam spent
her childhood growing up on the family farm in Willmar, MN. She was the oldest of four children.
She Graduated from Willmar High School in Willmar, MN in the spring of 1956. She was married to the love of her life, Philip E. Trukki on February 8, 1958, in Wilmar, MN. Philip was a part of
the United States Air Force and Miriam traveled throughout the United States with him as he
moved duty stations. She became accustomed to a nomadic life being the wife to a service
member. While they were stationed at Wheeler Air Force Base in Hawaii, they gave birth to two
boys. After moving throughout the US while raising their two boys, Miriam and Philip settled in
Hutchinson, MN. This is where Miriam became licensed as a dietician and worked at Burns
Manor Nursing Home for 10 years. After the boys graduated from high school, Miriam and Phil
moved out to Portola, CA where she worked for Plumas Pines and Grey Eagle Golf Courses
and ended her working career as a Prep Chef for The Coyote Bar and Grill in Grey Eagle, CA.
After living in Portola, California for 31 years she moved back Hutchinson, MN so that she could
be closer to her family.
Miriam was a lover of hummingbirds. At the house in California, it was not uncommon for her to
have numerous hummingbird feeders that she tended to daily to supply them with sugar water.
She also took great pride and tended to several garden beds around the house. She loved to
tell her family the stories of her life as a military wife, her life growing up on the family farm, and
numerous stories caring for the boys while her husband was away. She liked watching NASCAR
races and football. Though she lived in California for several years and did root for the 49’rs
from time to time, she was a Vikings fan through and through. She loved to sit and put together
500 plus piece puzzles over a weekend. She also was a collector of various antiques, trinkets,
and coins.
Spending time with family became especially important as she got older. She attended many
family events and holidays with all sides of her Minnesota family. She loved getting to spend
time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She made it a point to spoil them often.
Miriam was truly a remarkable woman and if you were lucky to know her, you were truly
blessed.
