Celebrating the Life of Michelle Fink
Michelle Louise Fink “Mickey”
May 15, 1952 – September 8, 2026
Michelle Louise Fink, affectionately known as “Mickey” to those who loved her, passed away on September 8, 2026, at the age of 74.
Mickey was born on May 15, 1952, to Elizabeth Fink (née Morlock) and Lincoln Abraham Fink. She was a woman who lived a life marked by both hardship and resilience. From a young age, Mickey faced challenges that would have tested anyone, but she learned early how to survive and how to make something out of whatever life put in front of her.
Mickey became a mother at just 17 years old. Though life wasn’t always easy and she faced her share of struggles and made mistakes along the way, she loved her son deeply. She worked hard to provide in the ways she could, while navigating the challenges that came with being a single mother.
Mickey was street-smart, independent, funny, and had a heart of Gold. She also had no problem telling you exactly what she thought—and she wasn’t particularly concerned about whether you were ready to hear it or not 😊. Mickey had a way of understanding life that could only come from experience.
She had a generous heart—sometimes to a fault. She was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. Her generosity wasn’t about having plenty; it was about believing that somebody else might need it more.
Mickey was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Fink (Morlock); father, Lincoln Abraham Fink; brother, Michael Fink; brother, Doug Hutchison; and sister, Ruth Ward. Mickey is survived by her son, Ricky Ray Vontayein, and wife Suzanne; siblings Bettijo Norman, Robert Hutchison, and Timothy Hutchison; as well as several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Mickey will be remembered for her generous heart, her street-smart spirit, her sense of humor, her strength, and her ability to keep going no matter what obstacles life put in front of her. Mickey’s story is one of hope, tragedy, resilience, grit, perseverance, generosity, and Love. Her greatest legacy is the family she leaves behind. She may not have had a perfect life, but she was Mickey—and there will never be another one quite like her.
One of Mickey’s greatest wishes was to remain in her own home and never have to spend her final days in a nursing home. Her family takes pride and comfort in knowing we were able to honor her wishes and keep her at home, surrounded by Familiarity, Love, Care, Compassion, her cat Trinity, and the people who meant the most to her.
Rest easy, Mom. You did it your way.
