It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Michelle Heaton, beloved mother, daughter, and friend, who left us peacefully after a battle with breast cancer on September 5th at the age of 54. She now rests in peace with Christ and is soaring with her wings.
Michelle was a devoted mother to Zac and Melanie who were the light of her life. Her warmth, strength, and unwavering love were the foundation of her family, and she poured her heart into every moment she spent with them. She found great joy spending time with her sister’s family at their Kansas farm, where she made cherished memories. Michelle also enjoyed spending time with Tom’s grandchildren and playing Fishdom to stay connected and laugh.
Michelle was born November 2nd in Palatka, FL, grew up in Bemidji MN and raised her children in Oakdale MN. Michelle was known for her kind spirit, contagious laughter, generous heart, and a determined nature. She touched the lives of all who knew her with her compassion, resilience, and her ability to make others feel seen and loved.
Michelle is survived by her friend and loving partner Tom Cheney, by her two beloved children Zac and Melanie, by her mother Anita Warren, her brothers Rodney (Leah) Warren, Micheal (Melissa) Warren, her sister Kim (Dan) Frishman and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Bradley Warren.
Her memory will be carried in the hearts of those who loved her and the lives of those touched by her endless love and amazing smile. A smile that brought light to every room she entered. Michelle cherished family time with her children, camping and canoeing together in the Boundary Waters Wilderness. Michelle truly enjoyed spending time at Maplewood Nature Center walking and resting in the outdoors savoring the peace that space provided. Turtles held a special place for Michelle and watching their antics brought her much joy. Michelle loved children and thoroughly enjoyed her time as a daycare mom.

The family would like to thank the care givers from Lakeview Hospital and HealthEast Hospice for the compassionate care. What a blessing these individuals were to Michelle and those around her.
She will be missed more than words can express, and remembered always with love. Michelle’s family and Tom thank you for your thoughts, prayers, kindness, and love during this difficult time.
