Michael O'Beirne, Sr.

Michael O’Beirne, Sr., 70, of Shevlin, Minnesota died on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Sanford Fargo Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota.

Mike was born in Bagley, MN on the second month and the second day of 1952 to Vincent and Viola (Hanson) O’Beirne. He was raised in Shevlin, MN and graduated from Bagley High School with the class of 1970.

After school, he started hauling grain with his dad and later started logging with him as well. Mike continued to drive truck and log the rest of his career. In 1980, while the Clearwater County Fair was going on, Michael met RoxAnne Lien and fell in love. The two were married on June 6, 1981 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wilton, MN.

Mike was quite the car enthusiast and loved to fix them up, whether it was for work or fun. He loved to have a good time and enjoyed fishing and gambling. Mike had a sweet tooth and wouldn’t say no to anything chocolate. He always looked forward to spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, RoxAnne O’Beirne; his children, Kevin Torgerson of Washington, Michael (Nichole) O’Beirne, Jr., Joshua (Amy) O’Beirne and Amber (James) Durkin all of Shevlin, MN; his grandchildren, Taylor, Heather, Dominick, Blayne, Bentley, Brady, Noah, Remi, Eli, Jesse, Presley, and Viola; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Viola O’Beirne; his brothers, Steve and Keith O’Beirne; his sister, Mary Mignon; and his mother and father-in-law, Lawrence and Adeline Lien.
