Michael John Gelakoski

We are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Michael John Gelakoski, 62, on January 7, 2023. Mike (also known as "Jelly") enjoyed spending quality time with his family at his cabin in Wisconsin. As we age, some of us slow down, but not Mike - he was known to always stay busy and work on projects (especially his lawn). He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling, and making memories with his hunting buddies. Mike was a dedicated employee of 41 years at the Sears Imported Autos body shop. He was a loving husband to his wife Lori of 40 years, two children Chase and Cassi (Stephen), and grandson Cameron who he absolutely adored.

He is preceded in death by his father Walter Gelakoski. Surviving family members include his mother Darlene Gelakoski, sister Lori Jones, brother Steve Gelakoski (Jane), brother Guy Gelakoski (Peggy), sister Janis Tierney, and sister Sandi Swope (Randy) and many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

Our family would like to extend an invitation to a Celebration of Life for Mike on Monday, January 16th from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus (Bloomington Event Center) in Bloomington, MN. Lunch will be provided. We hope to gather and share stories of Mike. Our family encourages anyone to come prepared with a story to share.
