Melvin Joseph Thomas, Jr., 59, of Northome, MN died under hospice care on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at his home, surrounded by family.

Melvin was born on May 2, 1963 in Bemidji, Minnesota, the son of Melvin, Sr. and Georgiana “Dolly” (Roberts) Thomas. He was raised in Northome and graduated from Northome High School in 1981. He was confirmed at Hope Lutheran Church in Northome.

Melvin was united in marriage to Tiffany Ogle on August 19, 1995 in Northome. He worked at Skoe Lumber/Northome Lumber from 1981 until retiring in 2020. He enjoyed curling, sturgeon fishing, summer fishing, wood working, traveling and all of his kitties. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Tiffany Thomas of Northome, MN; son, Josh (Beth) Moe of Grand Forks, ND; daughter, Heather Beaufeaux of Northome, MN; 5 grandchildren, Conrad & Audrey Moe, and Lainey, Weston & Rhett Beaufeaux; sister, Diane (Chuck) Collyard of Prior Lake, MN; niece, Sara Dahlquist; and nephew, David Collyard.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Joseph Thomas, Sr. & Georgiana “Dolly” Thomas; and his sister, Ann Lievsay.
