Melford Allen Klimas

Age 76, formerly of Mankato, MN and Chicago, IL . Preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Berenice Klimas. Mel spent his childhood in Chicago's Brighton Park neighborhood attending Kelly High School and Columbia College. He travelled throughout the country, on foot, with his dog Cha. Mel had a love of photography, custom cars and nature. Mel became a quadreplegic at the age of 33 after a tragic hang gliding accident, His disability never hindered his spirit and he continued living life to the best of his ability, He will be remembered by his cousins, both in Chicago and his fathers home state of Massachusetts, many dear friends and loving care-givers as a one-of-a-kind. unique, extraordinary, brave man.
