About Maxine

Maxine Lee Selzler went into the arms of our Lord on April 9, 2024 in Bemidji, MN. She was born in Estherville, IA December 6, 1942 to Lee L and Lillian B Huffman. The family moved to Bemidji in 1955 when Maxine was in her early teens. Maxine graduated from Bemidji High School in the class of 1960.

Maxine married Robert J Selzler February 4, 1961, her husband of many years. Maxine and Robert had a child each time they moved from state to state until they found their long-term home in Pierce, ID. Maxine refused to move again, because she told Robert she was done having children!

Maxine worked many years for JAYPE Potlatch Corporation where she served as Secretary as well as a Job Steward for the Union for many years of her career. Her Potlatch family became like extra family members to her, as well as many of the citizens of Pierce and Weippe, ID.

Maxine had a very outgoing, genuine, caring personality which resulted in many friends and adopted family members all over the country. Maxine was always a second mom to those that needed, as her children were growing up. She is dearly loved and will be missed by many people that she touched throughout her life.

She is proceeded in death by her long-time husband Robert J Selzler, her sister Maryanne Manecke, and nieces Peggy and Paula Manecke.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law George and Penny Huffman of Bemidji, MN. Six children: Bob Selzler (significant other, Chris Harris-Fox) of Clarkston, WA, Kevin Selzler of Bemidji, MN, Bonnie Martinez (husband Marty Martinez) of Mrytle Creek, OR, Barbara Altman of Topanga, CA, Brian Selzler of Bemidji, MN and KP Selzler (significant other, Margot Kelsey) also of Bemidji, MN. She is survived by 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly and spoke about often. Maxine was also grandmother to countless more.

In lieu of flowers or cards please keep Maxine in your hearts and memories.
