Mary Estabrooks, 84 of Northome, MN passed away peacefully at Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, MN on November 10, 2024.

Mary was born to Charles and Evalon Dahlke in Robbinsdale, MN, on July 21, 1940. During her childhood Mary lived in Chaska, MN, where they had the Dahlke hatchery. They moved to New Germany where they continued the Dahlke hatchery briefly. She attended school in New Germany and later attended High School in Mankato, MN. After high school she worked at an insurance company in Minneapolis, MN.

Mary met the love of her life, Don, through his friendship with her brother Chuck. Don proposed to Mary after dating for 6 weeks, and married 11 months later on June 29, 1963, in Waconia, MN.

They welcomed Shelley in 1966, and Eric two years later. Throughout their marriage they relocated many times, starting in Minneapolis and ending their travels in Northome, MN in 1980.

When Mary and Don settled in Northome, MN, she worked at Northwoods Craft, the Library, and the local Fair-board. Mary also served on the township for over 20 years. She was active in her church, St. Mark, located in Bemidji, MN. Mary enjoyed crafting, collecting elephant figurines, car shows, over 30 years of annual trips to Quadna Resort, and spending time with her grand and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her spouse, Don Estabrooks, sister Barbara Joyce, children Shelley (Craig) Stayton, Eric (Tina) Estabrooks, grandchildren Matthew (Bobbie Jo) Stayton, Sara McKinnis, Tamra (Chris) Bostick, honorary granddaughter Faith Imholtz, eight great-grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and many other relatives.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents Charles and Evalon Dahlke, brother Charles (Chuck) J. Dahlke, and sister Patricia Holloman.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at Sanford Hospital for their wonderful care of Mary in her last days with us.
