Mary Jane Lesetmoe, 80, of Kelliher, MN, formerly of Bemidji, MN died on January 23, 2024 at the Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Mary was born May 9, 1943 in Sioux Rapids, IA., the daughter of Evert and Genora (Anderson) Caskey. She grew up on a family owned resort, Caskey's Resort on Pleasant Lake near Hackensack. She graduated from Walker High School in 1961. She attended the McConnell Airline School where she received a flight reservation certification. She also worked for the Ohio Farmers Insurance Co. in Minneapolis for several years as a secretary and later as a waitress at the Sleepy Hollow Supper Club in Whipolt. She is a past member of the First Lutheran Church in Bemidji and belonged to the Women of the Moose Club.

She liked music, especially Lawrence Welk, going for walks, doing word searches and crossword puzzles.

She married Oscar Lestemoe on June 2, 1979 in Puposky, MN and they lived in Bemidji for several years.

Mary is survived by four sisters; Carolyn Pecore (Don) of Apple Valley, MN, Jan Rozman (Ed) of Virginia, MN, Elaine Vredenberg (Gary) of Grand Rapids, MN, and Annette Owens (Tom) of E. Wenatchee, WA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar in 2003; her grandparents; her parents; sister, Diane Schroeder; brother, Dale Caskey; and two nephews.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery in Turtle River, MN.
