A native of Rock Springs, WY, Mary graduated from Superior High School in 1955. She worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and eventually moved to Washington, D.C. to attend secretarial school. Mary then worked for Wyoming Governor Jack. R Gage serving in the United States Senate as a secretary during John F. Kennedy's presidency.
