Mary Claire Garner, 83, of Blackduck, MN died on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at her home.

Mary was born on November 27, 1938 in Boise, Idaho, the daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Allen) Scharff. She graduated from Boise High School in 1957.

She was united in marriage to John “Buzz” William Garner on July 25, 1958 in Boise, ID. They lived in California for nine years. They moved to a farm in Cormant Township, Minnesota in 1967 and have been farming there since.

Mary is survived by 4 sons, Christopher Lee (Rhonda) Garner of Bemidji, MN, John Allen (Denise) Garner of Savage, MN, Joseph Clair (Aiza) Garner of Woodbury, MN and Patrick Dean (Maria) Garner of Reeseville, WI; 3 grandchildren, Christopher James (Amanda) Garner of Hopkins, MN, Casey Andrew (Leah) Garner of Richland Center, WI and Calvin Garner of Woodbury, MN; 3 great grandchildren, Eli Robert Garner and Quinn Ellen Garner, both of Hopkins, MN, & Beatrice Louanne Garner of Richland Center, WI; 3 sisters, Noreen (Jim) Riebe & Fay (Sam) Heesch both of Boise, Idaho and Fern (Phil) Perkins of Pacolet, SC; 2 brothers, Ted Scharff of Boise, Idaho and Gene (Edith) Scharff of New Plymouth, ID; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John “Buzz” Garner; her parents; and sister-in-law, Darlene Scharff.
