Marsha L. Sampson
July 13, 1955 – October 12, 2025
Marsha Sampson passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, at the age of 70 from natural causes.
Born on July 13, 1955, in Minneapolis, Marsha was the daughter of Phillip and Florence (Moen) Sampson. She attended Annunciation Catholic School, Academy of Holy Angels High School, and went on to earn her degree from Concordia University–St. Paul.
Marsha’s formative years were spent helping her family run the Penny Arcade at the Minnesota State Fair and traveling the carnival circuit; experiences that shaped her strong work ethic and lifelong appreciation for the Minnesota State Fair.
Marsha devoted more than 40 years to public service as a Supervisor for Hennepin County’s Service Authorization Unit, where she was admired for her dedication, leadership, and willingness to help out any co-worker who came to her with a question.
Outside of work, Marsha found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a true passion for canning- creating delicious jams, jellies, pickles, and salsa. She loved gifting huge boxes of her canned goods to friends and families at the holidays, and her generosity will truly be missed. Marsha also loved baking, reading, working on puzzles, finding just the right gift for friends and family, and traveling.
Marsha cherished spending time in Hayward, Wisconsin, at her beloved cousin's lodge, especially during “Cookie Baking Weekend” with the Ya-Yas. She also found joy following her great-niece and great-nephew’s hockey adventures, cheering them on from the stands before heading south for the winter.
After retiring in 2022, Marsha enjoyed taking cruises and spending winters on South Padre Island, Texas, soaking in the sun and the company of good friends.
Marsha was preceded in death by her father, mother, sister, Michele, and beloved cousin, Carol.
Marsha is survived by her nephews, Kyle (Courtney) Finn and Bryan Finn, great-niece and nephew, Aidan and Aubrey Finn, brother-in-law, Mick Finn, cousins, Richard Henninger and Rose Henninger, Richard's children (Jennifer, Christopher, Barbara, and Melissa) and many dear friends and loved ones who will greatly miss her kindness, generosity, and strong spirit.
