Marsha K.Carnell-Gatgens ( Evans) passed away peacefully on January 14th, 2024, in Park Rapids, Minnesota, at the age of 77.

Marsha was born on July 25, 1946, in Edmore, Michigan. Marsha was a fighter until the very end, bravely battling metastatic breast cancer. She showed incredible resilience and perseverance throughout her illness, inspiring all who knew her. Marsha’s determination and strength were unmatched, and she never gave up. Her unwavering spirit serves as a powerful reminder of what true courage looks like.

Marsha had a deep love for the outdoors. She found solace in kayaking and fishing, immersing herself in the beauty of nature. One of her greatest passions was wolves, and she cherished the moments when she could listen to their haunting howls.

Marsha will be dearly missed by her surviving family members, including her son Ronald (Ronnie) Carnell Jr. and his spouse Sandy of Park Rapids, MN; her daughter Michelle (Shelly) Lehman and her spouse Mark of Christiana, TN; her daughter Angela (Angie) Symanietz and her spouse Andy of Park Rapids; her half-sister Cherylene Evans Wrisley of Edmore, MI; her half-brother Gary Evans of Edmore, MI; and numerous grandchildren and great-grand-children.

Marsha is preceded in death by her mother MaDonna Belle Mortensen; her father Dale Junior Evans; her brother James Edward “Jack” Evans; her brother Roger Smith; and her sister Pamela “Pam” Smith.

Marsha’s great-granddaughter, Isabell, aptly said, “Grandma is going to heaven and will be happy; she will be at home again.”

Marsha’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
