Marlin Lee Heide, 56, of Park Rapids, MN died on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at his home, with his two kids by his side holding him.

Marlin was born on January 10, 1968 at Fosston, MN the son of Marvel D. and Deloris (Nordlund) Heide. He grew up in Fosston where he attended and graduated from high school in 1986. He went on to attend BSU where he earned a degree in criminal justice and minor in natural resources. He has resided in Park Rapids since attending college.

He was married to Sheila R. Zeney on April 3, 1999 at Las Vegas, NV. They are blessed with two children – Caleb and Kia. Marlin has worked in carpentry and construction for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was known for loving on his dogs, and cracking jokes. He always enjoyed spending time with his kids and family. He was the best with kids and if there was a baby around he was holding them.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith and he was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church

He is survived by his spouse – Sheila R. Heide of Park Rapids, MN; his son – Caleb Heide of Park Rapids, MN; his daughter – Kia Heide of Grand Forks, ND; his mother – Deloris Heide of Fosston, MN; his siblings Darrel (Jody) Heide of Lengby, MN; Brian (Tammy) Heide of Moorhead, MN: Valerie (Darrel) Borth of Bagley, MN; Rynell (Bruce) Murphy of Fosston, MN; Miles Heide of Fairmont, MN; His pet dogs Adlee and Ely. And his two grand dogs Oli and Oaklee.

He was preceded in death by his father – Marvel Heide, Grandparents - Gust and Tillie Heide , George and Myrtle Nordlund, his infant nephew, father in law Jerald Zeney, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will be held at the Cross Lake Cemetery in Fosston, MN.
