Marilyn J. Gausman

April 8, 1930 – February 2, 2026

Roseville, MN 55113, USA

Marilyn J. Gausman, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to so many passed peacefully to her next journey on February 2, 2026. Marilyn was born on April 8, 1930, to Bill and Isabel Gavin and was the oldest of 3 girls. She was married to “the boy next door” for 56 years, her beloved Glenn. Marilyn and Glenn raised 6 children, Bill, Bob, Mary, Jim, Dan, and Joanie. She has 10 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren (plus one more on the way).

Marilyn and Glenn raised their children in Como Park in St. Paul in a house that Glenn built after WWII. They loved square dancing together and spending time with family and friends. Marilyn loved gardens and butterflies.

Marilyn will be remembered as an exceedingly kind and loving person, soft-spoken and generous with a reserve of great strength. She was a solid anchor in our lives and will continue to be as long as memory serves.

She is preceded in death by her husband Glenn, son Dan, parents Bill and Isabel, and her sisters, Eileen and Jean. She is survived by her children Bill (Gerri), Bob (Karen), Mary (Don) Wicklund, Jim (Susan Burns), and Joanie (Craig), daughter-in-law Annette Schardin, her grandchildren Jewel, Sarah, Kristin, Rebecca, Jason, Noah, Karl, Charlie, Will, and Sam and great-grandchildren Jayce, Jasper, and Zadie.

A Catholic Mass of Christian burial is being planned for Marilyn and her sister Eileen. Marilyn's final gift was to donate her body to the Anatomy Bequest program at the University of Minnesota to support medical research and education for health care professionals. She donated her eyes to Lions Gift of Sight to be used for medical research.

Marilyn’s family wishes to express gratitude for the unbelievably beautiful care that she received at Amira Choice, Roseville, and from Optage Hospice. We wish to thank her entire community of her neighbors and friends for making a joyful difference in her life through loving her.
