Loving Mother and Aunt to Many

Marie Vernette (Simones) Hagemeyer, 83, passed away peacefully at home on March 26, after complications from surgery, surrounded by family, friends, and her cats Penelopy and Mittens . Preceded in death by parents John and Marie, siblings John, Teresa(Spencer), Florence(Rasch), Ralph, Irene(Testor), Kathleen(Savard), Frances(DuCharme), Patricia(Sullivan), Husbands David Ruenitz, Wendall Glidewell, and Ron Hagemeyer, Son Timothy Albright, Grandsons Taylor Albright and John M. Kurkoski. Survived by daughter Penny (John S.) Kurkoski, Grandson Tim Albright Jr., Great Granddaughter Haylee Albright, and many nieces and nephews. Marie had a true love for life, family, and friends, always sharing stories. Her laughter was frequent and unmistakably recognized. After racing cars, her love for NASCAR was well known. She considered world famous race car designer/racer/entrepreneur Carrol Shelby a friend. Marie was best known for her skills and love for sewing and quilting, once owning over 100 sewing machines. She owned many businesses in her life including a nail salon in N.S.P. and different bars in St. Paul. She lived in Branson, Mo. for many years with husband Ron where she managed the famous Five and Dime Store and consignment shops. While in Branson, Marie enjoyed boating and fishing while living on the river. After the passing of husband Ron, she moved back to Minnesota to be with family. She continued sewing, watching NASCAR races, and reading her many prayer books. Marie will be remembered as a gentle soul and being kind to everyone. Many Thanks to her Caregiver June.
