life story

Celebrating the life of Marianne.

Marianne Tkach Baillos, born on August 8, 1938, in Cleveland, OH, and raised in Lakewood, OH, peacefully passed away on March 7, 2024, in Maple Grove, MN. Marianne always found solace and joy in attending the Eastern Orthodox church. She dedicated her life to serving her faith and her family. Marianne graduated from Michigan State University with a teaching degree in Home Economics, igniting a passion for nurturing young minds. Following a year in Greece, she began her teaching career in Baldwin, MI, before relocating to Iowa to start a family.

Marianne was blessed with three sons: Paul Michael, Peter Emanuel, and Philip Andrew. Her love and devotion knew no bounds as she supported her sons through their education, music lessons, and sports activities. Marianne's adventurous spirit led her to participate and complete RAGBRAI 11 alongside her son Paul and sister Evelyn in 1983, a testament to her zest for life. After relocating to Virginia, she resumed teaching and cared for her mother, Mary Tkach, while continuing her travels to China and Cuba. Marianne eventually settled in Bradenton, FL, and she always cherished time with her sons and grandchildren. In the fall of 2022, she moved closer to her son Paul in Minnesota.

Marianne is survived by her sons Paul Michael (Giselle), Peter Emanuel (Emily), and Philip Andrew (Sarah), and her 6 grandchildren (Mary, Sarah, Sophia, George, Heidi, and Abigail), sister Evelyn Tkach Novins (Andrew), niece Lisa Novins (Will Schaefer), and a loving community of relatives and friends. Her legacy of faith, love, and adventure will forever inspire those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in the hearts of all who were touched by her kindness and grace. The family is planning a private celebration of life for Marianne in the future.
